Yaanam 2025, Kerala’s first travel literature festival, is set to debut as a signature event by Kerala Tourism, bringing together top writers, artists, filmmakers, travel influencers, and culinary experts from India and around the globe. The festival takes place from 17th to 19th October 2025 at Ranga Kala Kendram, the Cliff, Varkala.
Celebrating the theme “Celebrating Words and Wanderlust,” Yaanam explores the close relationship between literature and travel, featuring a compelling lineup of 33 speakers, including Booker Prize winner Shehan Karunatilaka, Grammy Award-winning musician Prakash Sontakke, Gratiaen Award recipient Andrew Fidel Fernando, and numerous acclaimed authors, poets, journalists, and adventurers.
Attendees can look forward to engaging discussions, film screenings, live performances, curated travel trails, and workshops on writing, photography, and wellness. The festival highlights diverse voices and experiences, from epic journeys and solo adventures to culinary storytelling and travelogues that inspire exploration and self-discovery.
Supported by Kerala’s Tourism Minister, Yaanam aims to unveil Varkala’s unique tourism potential while positioning itself as a vibrant meeting point for passionate creatives and explorers.
